Justyna Szpara

For more than 10 years she has been advising and representing Polish and international clients in commercial disputes in litigation and in domestic and international arbitration disputes, especially regarding M&A, real estate, construction contracts, investment projects, commercial law and commercial contracts. She has been involved as a counsel in a number of high-profile arbitrations under the rules of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce, Lewiatan Arbitration Court, ICC and UNCITRAL as well as post-arbitration proceedings. Her experience includes also advising and representing clients in investment arbitrations.

She advises also on mergers & acquisitions, real estate transactions, commercial real estate tenancy and lease, and construction law.

Her commercial acumen and deep understanding of both the legal and business aspects of the case is highly praised by her clients.

Justyna is a listed arbitrator for the largest in Poland, the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Lewiatan Court of Arbitration. Her experience includes being an arbitrator or presiding arbitrator in several dozen proceedings under the rules of permanent courts of arbitration as well as ad hoc arbitrations.

She is the author or co-author of numerous publications on arbitration, as well as a lecturer on arbitration-related topics.

Experience and education

Justyna Szpara began working with Łaszczuk & Partners in 1999 and became a partner in the firm in 2005. She became the managing partner in 2010.

In 2011, she completed advanced training on international arbitration at International Arbitration Academy in Paris.

In 2005, she completed the advocates’ training programme in Warsaw and was admitted to the practice of law as an advocate.

She is a 2001 graduate of the Department of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. In 2000–2001 she studied law at the University of Regensburg, Germany.

Social involvement/organisations

Justyna Szpara is Member of the Board of Polish Arbitration Association. She is a member of the Arbitration Commission of the Polish Bar Council. She is also a member of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA). She is also Honorary Treasurer in the Board of International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).
