Jan specializes in arbitration and litigation.

He has acted as counsel and a secretary of arbitral tribunals in arbitral proceedings. He represents clients in proceedings for setting aside and recognition and enforcement of arbitration awards, as well as in complex cross-border commercial disputes before the Polish courts. He has experience in arbitral proceedings under the ICC, VIAC, SCC, LCIA and the Arbitration Court at the Polish Chamber of Commerce rules .

Jan has advised clients in disputes related to M&A transactions and international sale of goods contracts, as well as disputes in the financial, construction, defence, food and energy sectors.

He is currently preparing his PhD dissertation on international commercial arbitration at the University of Warsaw.

He teaches university classes in commercial and investment arbitration and civil procedure.

In 2020, Jan graduated with honours in legal studies at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. He was a visiting student at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Heidelberg University and China-EU School of Law in Beijing.

In 2019, he interned at the Hague Conference on Private International Law in the international litigation team. He also completed the Hague Academy of International Law’s private international law course and the 2022 Arbitration Academy in Paris. Jan is a co-chair of the Arbitration Youth Forum (AFM below 40). In 2023, he was selected to participate in the Young International Council for Commercial Arbitration’s global mentoring programme.
